Day 1 7/5/2019
This is the first day and also the first time I am building stuff and uploading picture into the second life. My team and I start to explore more stuff by looking at other works and exhibitions to gain more knowledge about second life. This is my avatar (on the right) sitting on a floating box and I am going to explore more about Illustration exhibition in the virtual world.
Day 2 8/5/2019
As our theme is about Fantasy, I have built a glowing sculpture at the middle of my room. I then start to make some spaces for my fantasy works. First, I try to make two demo frames as an example to see how the illustrations work in the room. After that, I build some frames around the room. My job is to create story illustrations so I start to create stories and also do some more fantasy illustrations research online. I look for some exhibitions in the second life as well.
Day 3 9/5/2019
My team members decided to take a group photo today (first picture) and we are still working hard to find a perfect place for our exhibition in the future. We have created a Facebook and Instagram account as well and link them to our website. I have just uploaded a black and white fantasy drawing (second picture) which drawn by drawing pad. Although I don't have much knowledge about using the drawing pad, I will keep on working hard to master it.
Day 4 10/5/2019
I have searched many exhibitions, galleries and museum in the second life and so far these are my favourite which are "The Lost Unicorn Gallery" (1st pic.) , "The Art Barn Gallery" (2nd pic.) and "Moya Museum" (3rd pic.) The Lost Unicorn Gallery provides various kind of fantasy Illustrations as the theme of this gallery is Fantasy. This can be a great example of my group project. Besides, It has different categories such as elf gallery and dragon gallery and I like the interior design as well.
Next, The Art Barn Gallery provides very high quality of illustrations but the space is small. I like the drawing styles as they are very detailed and this can be a good example for me to create illustrations. Lastly, one of my team members introduced Moya Museum and I found it very creative. Moya Museum not just create illustrations so do typography and products. It is quite famous in the second life as I found that it has different versions in the finding list and it has various kind of creative ideas to produce art works for example there are lots of illustrations and products made by only four letters which are "MOYA" .
Day 5 13/5/2019
Another three favourite art galleries and museums for me today which are "The vordun" (1st pic.), "Lundy Art Gallery and Museum" (2nd pic.) and "Spindrift – SpinSpace astronomical art Gallery, SciLands" (3rd pic.) The Vordun is the best art museum I have ever seen so far which provides a great technology for the visitors. Each painting has a number thus visitors need to press a number to listen to their descriptions. The museum looks clean and neat and each room has one theme so that visitors won't mix up the paintings. This is the best example for our exhibition so far and we are learning from it.
Next, Lundy Art Gallery and Museum has lots of amazing sculptures and painting which the visitors won't feel boring as they can explore not just sculptures and also the contemporary art paintings. Furthermore, Spindrift is a space gallery and I like their transporter because I can travel through transporter instead of flying around the buildings to see another section. It is convenient and I can use this idea for our future exhibition.
Lastly,
I have screen printed my computer drawing (4th pic.) with blue, red and yellow. I named my 1st illustration as "The Magical Book". The story is about a girl who found a magical book which can transform herself into any kind of creatures such as butterfly, mermaid and angle.
Day 6 14/5/2019
I'm working on my second story illustration today and this time I use four pieces of small paper to describe a story of one of my favourite anime "The Ancient Magus Bride" with colour pencils. I'm planing to do some watercolour painting for my next story illustration.
My team would like to come out a unique name for the exhibition so I came out a Malay word for the exhibition which is "Khayalan" means Fantasy. The poster was created by Sarah. (last pic.)

Day 7 15/5/2019
My team is finding a building for our exhibition for our island and we also start to design the area of the island. We find benches, houses, castle and slabs from second life marketplace. Although we can't find any suitable building for our theme but we are still determine to find the best building for our future exhibition.
Furthermore, I have done some sketches for my 3rd illustration and I'm going to describe a Hayao Miyazaki's story which is "Spirited Away" with fine liners, markers and watercolour.
Day 8 16/5/2019
I am still working on my Illustration today and also finding some decorations for the island. I've found Fantasy Lilypad from the second life market place which the lilies will glow once my avatar step on them on the water. This looks fantasy and also beautiful during night time. I also explore some more fantasy places to collect some more ideas to decorate my home island. My team are also doing their best to search for the most suitable building for the exhibition. We are doing great so far.
Day 9 17/5/2019
I have finished part of the illustration and these are the first look. I'm going to colour the background with watercolour which will look a bit pale because I want the contrast as the highlight of the illustration is the black characters and it tells the story of "Spirited Away".
My 4th Illustration will be a pencil drawing fighting scene. I'm looking for fighting postures and scenes online for reference and this illustration will be black and white.

Adam has found a useful website which enable us to look at all kinds of Galleries in the Second Life. Its also enable us to teleport to the place from the website. I have found two great place so far which are "Post Factum" (1st Pic.) and "Fractal Insanity"(2nd Pic.).
Post Factum was suggested by Kris which has lots of beautiful sculptures and the place looks fantasy which can be a great example for my team exhibition while Fractal Insanity has lots of Illustrations which can be a reference for me.
I've also done my 4th illustration sketch and I reference the fighting postures from Pinterest and from a famous anime named "Dororo". The characters were created by myself and I named this illustration "Sister"

Day 11 21/5/2019
This is my 4th Illustration, "Sister". It is a fighting scene between both sisters and one of them being controlled to fight with her own sister. This is only a scene of my story which I created by my own. The story would be like a twins were separated when they were young and then they met each other as enemies. This would be the scene when the younger sister (short hair) found out that her enemy is her own sister, she do not want to kill her thus she's being controlled. I start to create this story when I was young and then I develop the story and also the characters until now.

Chris, the placement supervisor wanted to replace our previous room into another new building thus my team and I have move our stuff into a hall (see 1st, 2nd and 3rd pic.). I have to find a space to put my stuff but unfortunately I've realised that my frames might be too big for a room so I need two rooms to fit my frames. This is only a temporary place for us to put our stuff and we still searching for a building that suit our theme.
Furthermore, I've finally bought Fantasy Lily pad to decorated the river of the Island (last pic.) and it looked great. There are four types and styles of the fantasy lily pads and I make a small tunnel with them.
Day 13 23/5/2019
I've finally done my 3rd Illustration, "Spirited Away" and these is how it looks like. There are four pieces of A4 paper and each describes a scene of the movie. So, the 1st picture describes how Chihiro(the main character) accidentally enters a mysterious place and her parents have turned into pigs. A boy (with short hair) named Haku come to save her.
The 2nd picture describes that Chihiro has to work in the mysterious place so that she can find a way to break her parents' curse and escape from the mysterious place. During her work, she met some good friends whom were willing to help her.
Next, the 3rd picture describes the brave Chihiro faced with a scary creature named "No Face" and there was conflict between him and Chihiro while the last picture describes that Haku came to rescue and she finally break the curse and go home. For detailed stories you can watch Spirited Away from Hayao Miyazaki and it is a highly recommended movie for all ages.

This is my 5th Illustration which drawn by drawing pad. This is a story of a couple which the male is the sky and the female is the tree. They could not meet each other very frequently because the female could not move thus the male come to see her if he got a chance. I named this illustration "love".
Day 15 27/5/2019
I decided to use this Illustration as my 6th Illustration and this is actually a famous Chinese legend which the 8 immortals were trying to cross the sea with their own power. This is actually a final brief of one of my modules and I decided to narrate the whole story in one picture. I linoprinted it during the Easter break and submitted it to the lecturer. This is an illustrated piece with Adobe illustration before I laser cut and lino printed it on an A1 size paper.
Day 16 28/5/2019
With Adam's help, I've finally know how to link the box to Facebook Page so visitors can click on the box and see our website online. Adam have done two links to our website and Instagram and also create a welcome box for the exhibition.
I've bought glowing grasses and place them near the river. I've also done decorating the fantasy lily pads on the river and they look really nice. The lily pad will lead the visitor to a teleporter which is a new thing I've bought and learn the function of it today and teleport to the place they would like to visit.
Day 17 29/5/2019
I've discovered a place called Village of Ahiru which is a beautiful Japanese place (1st and 2nd pic.). It appeared as an advertisement before I log in and caught my eye. The place looked like a real life Japan scenery and I got free kimono (Japanese Cloth) and umbrella as well!
I've done uploading most of Illustrations and building frames on each of them today (3rd and 4th pic.). I replace them as well as the previous placement was not good for me. Sarah bought a house for the exhibition and she multiple it into two which looked great (last pic.)
Day 18 30/5/2019
I've build a small garden space next to our exhibition building. It looked nice with glowing green and colourful trees as well as the glowing Pandora grass. The garden was built with mixed plants and trees and the glowing trees were catching eye. they look even nicer during night time so that the whole garden won't look dark and gloomy. The 1st picture below was the day time scenery while the next picture would be the night time scenery.
Day 19 31/5/2019
I take a look at my team's decoration today and they look nice. Sarah has built a car park and some cars. She also bought some fun stuff like food and drinks in her building. Anything is possible in the Second Life although the avatar won't need to eat. Barry is working on the magazine while Adam, Kris and Paris are doing their artwork.
Day 20 3/6/2019
Sarah decided to arrange the group art work on the wall of the building and 1st picture below is my space. Unfortunately, I have to take down the last Illustration (the 8 Immortal) due to the shortage of the space. Anyway, I have replaced the glowing grasses behind Sarah's flags (2nd pic.) to show the path to our exhibition and I also put palm trees to fill the space.
The owner of the land so do our placement supervisor, Chris has changed the landscape so the river has turned into a lake thus I have to rebuild the glowing lilypads (3rd pic.). To avoid the lake looks empty, I bought a boat and multiple it. They might be a good idea to entertain the visitors... I guess.

My team and I are setting up the 3rd Year exhibition virtually in a building built by a lecturer and my placement supervisor. They are trying to rebuild Kingsway Campus and our job is to put up the 3rd Year art works by following the real life exhibition map.
Day 22 5/6/2019
I have put my art works on the wall and my sculpture as well (1st and 2nd pic). Most of my team's art works are on the wall and our next step is to continue rebuild the 3rd Year exhibition in the Second Life Kingsway building (3rd and 4th pic).
Day 23 6/6/2019
Today is the day to exhibit our art works but it seems like our Placement Supervisor has locked visitors out! He has sorted it but we still cannot see other visitors around. Luckily we got a new member named Moya Patrick which is a French artist and would like to exhibit his work with us in the future. I hope our exhibition can get more visitors' attention and will be well known. Our Placement Supervisor is quite happy on our exhibitions as well! (video on the right)
